Kaupapa

Matakite | Vision

A moral and compassionate Aotearoa, where all sentient beings are  free from exploitation and injustice.

 Hoaketanga  |  Mission

To empower and grow the animal rights movement in Aotearoa to fight against and abolish the systemic oppression of non-human and human animals alike.

Ngā Uaratanga | Values

Manakitanga | Respect

All sentient beings deserve respect and consideration to live free from exploitation and inflicted harm.

We do not exploit or discriminate based on species, ability, sexual orientation, gender, sex, race, age, appearance, education, or economic status.

We do not condone violence. Our activism will always be free from aggression and violence towards people.

Herekorenga Kotahitanga | Collective Liberation

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

While we actively seek to liberate non-human animals from their oppression, we also recognise that human animals are still oppressed, marginalised and exploited. We use an intersectional approach in our advocacy. This means we support and uplift movements for tangata whenua, LGBTQIA+ and other oppressed or marginalised groups.

Manatika | Equity

We strongly believe in equity for all.

We need to combat all inequities so that people have more opportunities to contribute to the growth of our society.

We recognise that colonisation has had an immense intergenerational impact on tangata whenua. We tautoko Te Tiriti o Waitangi and acknowledge that, although we do not have all the answers, we can make a commitment to cultural consciousness and supporting initiatives to make reparations and promote equity.
